Some of my personal favorite artists of all time are also considered to be some of the greatest musicians of all time; Count Basey, Eric Clapton, Yngwie J. Malmestein, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and Daniel Lioneye. It is mildly hard to find someone as equally talented nowadays, in the age of High School Musical and Fall Out Boy where great musical play is put on the back burner to... rather pretty looking people. With the Jonas Brothers and Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus topping our charts, I have to stand up and point out great music when I hear it, and Joetown with their album Pills and Ammo is great music.

Joetown, from Wallingford, Connecticut, is a mix of Stevie Ray Vaughn's sound and Daniel Lioneye's guitar play. They bring a flowing sound with some rough lyrics. It gives you the feeling like you want to just get totally hammered and listen to this cause of the pure euphoria that it gives you. (Trust me I tried it and damn was it satisfying!) This album gives you some brash music with some rough guitar shredding as well. The best tracks on here are "Hole In My Soul," "Lonely Town Blues" and "All My Angels." These are the songs that manage to truly give off that raw energy that drives Joetown.

Joe Delaney is an amazing guitarist and may very well be this decade's Stevie Ray Vaughn. He can shred like no other and is leading this generation into a new revolution of rock guitarists. I am looking forward to their next album, but also loved their first one titled Rock'n'Roll Man which they released in 2007 and is available on Amazon for a mere 10 bucks.

These guys can deliver an in your face, roughneck, east coast rock with a shot of Jager and a kick in the teeth. This album is a must own for any blues rock lovers who like rough lyrics and enjoy hearing a real guitarist compared to most of the crap today. If you're a rock lover and you like it rough, get this album, it is one of the better albums I've heard this year.
